A team from Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde, led by the Dasho Thrompon and Executive Secretary, along with relevant Thromde officials and key stakeholders, undertook a joint site visit to the Maekang water source for the pretendering and Environmental Clearance assessment of the Maekang Water Supply Project.
The visit brought together representatives from Dewathang Gewog Administration, Forest officials, the Regional Office of the Department of Surface Transport, Samdrup Jongkhar, and the Environment Officer from Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag.

During the site visit, the team discussed the proposed water transmission pipeline alignment, site conditions, environmental considerations, access requirements, and other potential issues that may arise during project implementation. These discussions at the early stage are important to ensure that all relevant agencies and stakeholders are well informed, concerns are identified in advance.
The Maekang Water Supply Project is a critical intervention aimed at addressing the longstanding water challenges faced by Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde and ensuring a more reliable and sustainable water supply for the community.
