On June 2nd,2025 to commemorate Social Forestry Day and in honor of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo’s legacy of environmental stewardship, Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde organized a mass plantation program.

The Ornamental species over 500 were planted across key urban spaces to enhance greenery, promote biodiversity, and improve air quality. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Thromde officials, students, armed forces, and civil servants, reflecting strong community spirit and shared responsibility toward environmental conservation.

This annual initiative not only reinforces Bhutan’s commitment to Gross National Happiness and ecological balance but also educates the younger generation on the importance of trees in sustaining healthy and resilient cities. Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde thanks all contributors for their support.
